Cleansing & Detox

Q. How do I take other supplements with cleanses?

A. Other natural supplements should be separated from any part of a cleanse by an hour.

Q. Can I take my probiotic with the cleanse?

A. Yes, you may take your probiotic with the cleanse. An enteric-coated probiotic can be taken at any time as the delivery system will allow the probiotic to be delivered directly to the intestines.

Q. Can you increase dosage of any of the cleanses?

A. We do not suggest increasing dosage beyond the recommended dosage for any of the cleanses. (CleanseSmart part 2 can be increased if needed for better elimination)

Q. Can cleanses be used for children?

A. No. The only cleanse that is available for children is ParaGone for Kids. Children 16 years or older and over 100 pounds may take any of the cleanses at ½ dose.

Q. Can I open capsules if I can’t swallow them?

A. You can empty the contents of the capsules for most of the cleanses into a little applesauce or plain yogurt. We do not suggest doing so for the ParaGone or CandiGone cleanse because some of the ingredients contained in the capsules may irritate the esophagus.

Q. Can I take my medications with the cleanses?

A. Some herbs should not be taken in conjunction with medications. It is best to ask your doctor or pharmacist for a list of herbs that should be avoided with your medication.

Q. If I have a medical condition can I still use the cleanses?

A. Anyone with a medical condition should be conferring with their doctor before using a cleansing product.

Q. Do you take all of the HOPE formula with the cleanses?

A. HOPE is a great accompaniment to all the cleanses as high fiber, oils, probiotics and enzymes help to provide digestive support while cleansing. Of course one would experience the most benefit by taking products in all four of the categories but taking any of the four would be beneficial to the digestive tract as a daily support.

Q. Is it necessary to do CleanseSmart if you have done FirstCleanse?

A. It is up to the consumer. (We have a suggested sequence of cleansing but you can certainly use FirstCleanse only and stop there if you wish.) If you are an inexperienced cleanser, starting with FirstCleanse is a good idea as one should approach cleansing with a gentle cleanse. After the channels of elimination have been opened up and one’s body becomes accustomed to cleansing they would then be looking for something deeper. That is where CleanseSmart would come in. If one has a problem with constipation or a tendency towards constipation, you may want to use FirstCleanse with CleanseMore or use CleanseSmart because it has a stronger colon cleanse.

Q. Will any of your cleanses make me “run” to the bathroom?

A. Certainly everyone has different bowel habits as some people eliminate 2-3 times per day, some once a day and still some less than that. The cleanses are not designed to have someone running back and forth to the restroom but one may need to make an adjustment to the colon cleansing formula (night formula) depending upon the frequency and texture of elimination.

Q. Is there a waiting period between the cleanses?

A. No, you may take the cleanses back-to-back. Certain cleanses have suggested cycles to follow but the suggested sequence of cleanses can be taken with no breaks in between.

Q. What is the diet for FirstCleanse?

A. One is not required to radically change his/her diet while taking most of the cleanses (excluding microbial cleanses). Eating as healthy as possible is very supportive of the detoxification process. Consuming fresh fruits and vegetables, choosing organic foods whenever possible, avoiding chemical additives and preservatives, drinking plenty of water (half your body weight in ounces), limiting caffeine intake and avoiding alcohol are all recommended.

Q. How often can I take CleanseSmart?

A. CleanseSmart can be taken up to four times per year maximum. Generally, cleansing is done on an annual or semiannual basis.

Q. Do I have to do all of the cleanses before I do CandiGone?

A. No, but it is suggested to do a total body cleanse like FirstCleanse or CleanseSmart initially to open up the 7 channels of elimination and allow the body to become accustomed to the cleansing process. There is no required waiting period in between these two cleanses.

Q. How do I know the cleanse is working?

A. Everyone will respond differently to cleansing. Typical cleansing responses may include one or more of the following: slight headache, fatigue, muscle and joint aches, minor flu-like symptoms and sometimes minor skin eruptions. These responses usually last about 2-3 days typically, depending upon how the body responds. Every person responds differently to cleansing. Results vary but one can experience a general sense of well being and energy among the many benefits to cleansing.

Q. Can I do more than one cleanse at a time?

A. Generally, it is not advised to do more than one cleanse at a time but there are some exceptions. You may combine Liver Detox only with any of the other cleanses, except for Total Kidney Cleanse, as long as you have previous experience using these cleanses separately and know how your body responds to each cleanse. It is suggested to start out with half dose of both for the first three days and on the fourth day, increase one cleanse to full dose followed by the other after another three days.

Q. How long can a cleanse be used?

A. Generally, the cleanses can be used for a maximum of 3 months straight without a break (unless there are special breaks specific to certain cleanses like Total Kidney Cleanse which is taken 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off and then 2 weeks on again and ParaGone which is taken for 15 days then a 5 day break and 15 days back on again). This pattern should be followed if these cleanses are repeated.

Q. What if I forget a dose?

A. Do not attempt to double up on a dose but continue taking the cleanse as suggested the following day and you may end up with an extra dose at the end of the cleanse, which is fine.

Fiber

Q. How do I take fiber with any part of the cleanse?

A. It is best to separate fiber from your cleanse or other supplements by 30-60 minutes. Fiber can be taken with food or on an empty stomach any time of the day.

Q. If I do not take FiberSmart and OilSmart with the cleanse, will it still be effective?

A. Yes, however the fiber and oils will help one to obtain the maximum benefits of the cleanse. Be sure to include a lot of high fiber foods in the diet (25-35 grams a day) if you are not going to take a fiber supplement as fiber helps to sweep the colon clean of toxins as well as absorbing them. If an inadequate amount of fiber is consumed, the bowel movements may not be regular therefore the toxins have no way out and may be reabsorbed back into the system.

Probiotics

Q. When do I take probiotics?

A. If your probiotic has an enteric coating or any other delivery system that protects the cultures through the acid produced in your stomach, you can take it anytime, with food or on an empty stomach. If your probiotic does not have a protective delivery system, it would be best to take on an empty stomach between meals when the stomach is least active.

Q. What happens if you take too much?

A. If a probiotic is too strong or you have taken too much, one may experience some gas and bloating or a looser stool. Your body will eliminate what it does not need.

Enzymes

Q. How do I decide which enzyme formula I need?

A. Typically plant based enzymes are best for gas and bloating. Renew Life uses plant based enzymes over animal based because the plant based are effective in a broader range of pH levels. Enzyme formulas with plant based enzymes along with hydrochloric acid are best for indigestion or heartburn.

Q. Should enzymes be taken before, during or after a meal?

A. Plant based enzymes can be taken before, during or immediately after a meal. They can also be taken between meals. Enzyme formulas with hydrochloric acid should be taken with food so during your meal or immediately after your meal.
